Meet the Team
Lancashire’s Leading Public Sector Building Contractors
Meet the Team... skilled, approachable, and proud to deliver to our clients.
At Bambers Remedial Contractors Ltd, Lancashire’s leading public sector building contractors, our people are at the heart of every project. As a growing, family run business, we combine a personal, people first approach with the professionalism, resources, and structure needed to deliver specialist construction, refurbishment, and maintenance works for councils, housing associations, and public sector organisations across Lancashire and the North West.
Our teams are highly experienced in delivering projects in occupied homes, live public buildings, and other sensitive, community facing environments. Whether working in a resident’s home, a school, a care facility, or on a regeneration project, we take pride in getting the job right first time.
By working collaboratively across departments, we ensure every project is delivered safely, respectfully, and to the highest compliance standards.
Adaptations Team – Disabled Facilities Grant & Accessible Housing Specialists in Lancashire
Led by Project Manager Tom Black, our Adaptations Team specialises in Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG) funded works and large scale home adaptations for local authorities, housing providers, and private clients. Our portfolio ranges from individual measures, such as wet rooms, bathroom conversions, kitchen alterations, access ramps, door widening, and internal reconfigurations, through to full property adaptations designed to meet complex mobility and care needs.
We work closely with occupational therapists, surveyors, architects, and grant officers to ensure every adaptation is tailored, compliant, and delivered to the highest standard. With extensive experience in occupied homes and with vulnerable residents, we prioritise careful liaison, pre-start planning, and clear communication to minimise disruption and ensure timely, high quality results.
Retrofit Team – PAS 2030/2035 Energy Efficiency Contractors in Lancashire
Led by Project Manager Kevin Sewell, our Retrofit Team works with local authorities and housing providers to deliver fully PAS 2030 and PAS 2035 compliant energy efficiency upgrades, backed by Trust Mark accreditation.
We improve property performance through insulation, ventilation, heating upgrades, and renewable technologies, each tailored to the building’s needs. Working closely with Retrofit Coordinators and Assessors, we focus on quality installation, regulatory compliance, and resident care.
Our expertise in occupied housing ensures minimal disruption, while our commitment to funding requirements and measurable carbon reduction outcomes helps councils tackle fuel poverty, cut emissions, and improve tenant comfort.
Residential Construction – Social Housing & Void Property Refurbishment Specialists
Led by Kev Smith, our Residential Construction Team delivers high quality works to both empty and occupied homes across Lancashire and the North West.
We transform void properties into safe, modern homes ready for relet, and carry out carefully managed works in occupied properties including full kitchen and bathroom refurbishments, level access shower adaptations, and external upgrades to housing blocks.
Our expertise covers major internal and external improvements such as roofing, cladding, rendering, insulation, and brickwork repairs; compliance driven works including fire safety upgrades, electrical installations, and asbestos removal and planned maintenance programmes such as cyclical decorations and flooring replacements.
Commercial & Public Buildings – Refurbishment, Fit-Out & Heritage Projects
Led by Dave Khan, our Commercial & Public Buildings Team delivers refurbishment, fit out, and improvement works across schools, libraries, care homes, civic buildings, and commercial premises.
Our portfolio includes heritage restoration and regeneration projects, such as shopfront improvements under Quality Corridors and HSHAZ schemes. We are experienced in M&E upgrades, accessibility improvements, compliance driven works, and fire safety measures in education settings.
Used to working in live, operational environments, we plan projects around term times, public opening hours, and phased programmes, ensuring minimal disruption to staff, students, residents, and local businesses.
Office & Support Team
Behind every successful council and public sector project is a coordinated office team ensuring everything runs to plan. Our Office & Support Team brings together expertise in estimating, scheduling, health & safety, finance, quality assurance, and client liaison.
From tender submission to project completion, they manage programmes, track performance, and ensure every client has a dedicated point of contact. Their work ensures our site teams can focus on delivering compliant, high quality results on time and to specification.
