Accreditations

  1. Constructionline – Constructionline is a Government-run scheme that collects and assesses company information to ensure they meet required levels (PAS 91) in areas such as health and safety. As Constructionline Gold members, our credentials are checked to meet rigorous standards in areas such as environmental management, quality management, equal opportunities, modern slavery act adherence, and anti-bribery and corruption policies.
  2. CHAS – As compliant contractors, we have demonstrated that we adequately comply with current legislation and have sound management of all health and safety matters.
  3. ISO9001 Quality Management – ISO 9001 is the international standard for a quality management system (“QMS”). The standard is used by organisations to demonstrate their continuous improvement and an ability to provide products and services that meet customer and regulatory requirements.
  4. ISO14001 Environmental Management – Having ISO 14001 demonstrates a business monitors and controls the environmental impact of its operations, improving efficiency and the cost effectiveness of resources, waste and energy management.
  5. Gas Safe – Our Gas Safe plumbing and heating engineers are regularly assessed to ensure they are working to high and safe standards. We can also self-certify installations of gas appliances and heating systems to ensure they are compliant with building regulations, eliminating the need for an inspection by building control of these elements.
  6. NICEIC is the UK’s regulatory board for electrical contractors. All contractors undergo a rigorous assessment process, covering a representative sample of their work, their premises, documentation, equipment, and the competence of their key supervisory staff.
  7. FENSA – FENSA membership enables us to show that replacement windows and doors we install comply with building regulations without the need for a separate assessment from building control, reducing administration for our customers.
  8. FMB – The federation of master builders is the UK’s largest trade association. To join, contractors must be independently vetted and pass certain criteria to ensure all work is undertaken to the highest quality.
  9. Safe Trader – The Safe Trader Scheme is operated by Lancashire County Council Trading Standards Service. It is a register of reputable businesses in the county that have signed up to a code of practice and pledged to deliver good customer service.
  10. Prompt Payment Code – The Prompt Payment Code (PPC) is a voluntary code of practice for businesses administered by the government, which determines standards including the speed at which invoices must be paid.

Partnering culture

Collaborative working has become an integral aspect of our strategy thanks to more than 20 years’ experience working with local authorities in Lancashire.

Our project management approach reflects the evolution of the industry since the publication of the influential publication Rethinking Construction 1998, which has driven efficiency improvements in UK construction industry practice.

Principles

We follow the principles of:

  • Committed leadership: Good management goes beyond simply completing to schedule and our teams continually generate positive change in organisational culture and ethos.
  • A focus on the customer: End users’ needs and satisfaction inform all design processes and delivery, with project management teams consistently optimising designs, product choices and site management in line with lean thinking methodology and working backwards from end-user requirements.
  • Integrating the process and team around the product: Our awareness of customer needs underpins the need to integrate teams, which produce better results when organised in this way, oriented towards a shared purpose.
  • A quality-driven agenda: A culture of high-quality standards is embedded through the pride of operatives and management staff in their work, deploying skills, measures and systems developed over many years and executed to great effect across many projects. On-site works are frequently appraised by the site manager and contracts manager to assess performance, with quality viewed as the product of collaborative engagement with clients, rather than simply completing works to specification.
  • Commitment to people: As Investors in People accreditation holders, we recognise that our employees’ working environment is important in creating a productive atmosphere and relationship with our partners, and enables them to produce superior work and contribute to an enhanced final product.
