Introduction
For Anderton Gables on behalf of Reside with Progress, Bambers Contractors Ltd successfully delivered the refurbishment and adaptation of an existing bungalow on Warbreck Drive, Blackpool, transforming it into a modern, safe, and accessible supported living unit.
The property was unoccupied during works, allowing for a comprehensive programme of internal and external improvements. The project was delivered by 100% Lancashire based staff and subcontractors, supporting local employment and investment in the regional economy.

Transforming a vacant bungalow into a safe, modern supported living environment
The project involved the full refurbishment and reconfiguration of an existing bungalow to meet the specific needs of supported living. Works included significant structural alterations, internal modernisation, and external accessibility improvements. Delivered within a tight 16 week programme and overcoming several logistical and environmental challenges, the scheme resulted in a high quality, future proofed home tailored to the occupant’s needs.

Internal Refurbishment
Full refurbishment of the kitchen, lounge, staff bedroom, and bathroom to create modern, functional living spaces.
Structural Reconfiguration
Knocking down walls, relocating external doors, and redesigning layouts, including the removal of one bedroom to enlarge the kitchen.
Kitchen & Bathroom Enhancement
Creation of larger, more practical spaces, including a fully accessible wet room with cladded walls.
Fire & Safety Upgrades
Installation of FD30 fire doors, a new fire alarm system, and emergency lighting to meet safety standards.
External & Accessibility Works
Installation of ramps, driveway remodelling, landscaping, and full replacement of windows, doors, fascias, soffits, and gutters.
Mechanical & Electrical Upgrades
Complete M&E upgrades with full testing and commissioning to ensure compliance and performance.
