Project Summary
- Start date: 21st January 2026
- Completion date: 22nd January 2026
Introduction
Bambers Building Contractors were appointed by Boathouse Youth to install a specialist moveable acoustic wall within the main hall of their community facility, following the successful completion of a wider improvement project delivered the previous year. Previous Case Study
The objective was to transform a single large hall into two flexible, functional spaces that could support simultaneous activities while maintaining acoustic separation.
Community buildings increasingly need to support a wide range of activities for young people and local residents. Creating flexible, sound controlled environments enables multiple uses within the same space, improving accessibility, comfort and overall building efficiency.
Project Overview
Creating flexible, multi use community space without structural alteration
The scope of works involved the installation of a specialist moveable acoustic partition wall to divide the main hall into two separate, usable areas.
The new sliding wall system allows the client to create a meeting space alongside ongoing activities, host multiple youth sessions at the same time, maximise building use without structural alterations and adapt the layout depending on operational requirements.
The acoustic specification ensures that activities can take place independently in each area without disruption, significantly enhancing the building’s overall functionality.
